Metro 2024 Cherry Blossom Campaign

THE CLIENT

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) commonly referred to as Metro, is a public transit agency that operates transit services across the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

THE PROJECT

Metro asked for a bright, bold campaign with OOH, Social, and merchandising elements to encourage people to use Metro to see the cherry blossoms and visit the various festivals and events.

THE PROCESS

The festive train and bus wraps were the focus. With huge pink blossoms on a dark blue background, these caught the eye of local commuters and tourists across the DMV, appearing in social media posts and videos. The rest of the elements continued the look, emphasizing the ease and savings of using Metro’s service to view the blossoms. The themed merchandise was available Metro's online store, and at a themed pop-up shop on the National mall.
