When Van Metre’s Stone Ridge debuted as a planned community project, their intent was to create a neighborhood with a tight knit feel and plenty of amenities. The entire community was pre-wired with fiber optic cable, to insure the availability of broadband internet to every home. The development also came with its own online community to encourage people living there to connect with each other.
The campaign leaned into nostalgia with vintage and vintage appearing photography, balanced with a visual emphasis on the power and speed of the development-wide broadband infrastructure. The ads emphasized the opportunity to connect with your neighbors both online and in person via the various community amenities with the slogan: “old-fashioned living at light speed.” The homes sold at an incredibly fast rate, and the campaign won several MAME (Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence) Awards: Best Brochure, Best Color Ad, and Best Color Ad Campaign.
